Galilean Morning
By J. Brad Chapman
March 30, 1976
Peter was a fisherman
He fished on the Sea of
Galilee
He’s waiting for the tide
to come in so
He can cast his nets in the
sea.
But who is that man
that soft-spoken man?
Standing there on the shore
barefoot in the sand.?
Peter come and follow me
I will make you a fisher of
men
Give up all your earthly
possessions
and follow me to the end.
But who is that man
that soft-spoken man?
Standing there on the shore
barefoot in the sand.?
Peter stood and followed
him
never met a man like this
before
He listened and watched in
amazement
as the man served the sick
and the poor.
He healed the sick
gave food to the poor.
Helped the blind man to see
made the lepers skin pure.
His disciples left two by
two
to spread the teachings of
love
Of a man who died on a
cross while
earthquakes shook below, no
sunshine above.
Why did He die?
Why did they mock?
Why didn’t He fight?
He only said . .
. .
Knock and it will be open
Seek and ye shall find
Ask and it shall be given
Be pure in heart and ye
shall be mine.
But who was that man
that soft-spoken man?
Who stood there, on the
shore,
barefoot in the sand?
